The work meeting on drafting the following five group standards of China Electricity Council was held in Beijing on March 22, 2017: Guide to Compiling Group Standards, Guide to Rewarding the Achievements of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards, Criteria on the Evaluation on the Guide to Rewarding the Achievements of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards, General Guide to Evaluating Good Conduct of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards and Criteria on the Evaluation on the Guide to Evaluating Good Conduct of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards

Two representatives from EETI and 21 representatives from other 15 institutions were present at the meeting, including China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association (CEEIA), Machinery Industry Beijing Electrotechnical Institute of Economic Research, China Electric Apparatus Science Academy Co., Ltd., Chint Electrics Co., Ltd., Xi'an High-voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd., Changshu Switchgear Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Harbin Institute of Large Electrical Machinery, Nanyang Electric Explosion Protection Research Institute, Xuchang Ketop Electric Research Institute, Tianjin Research Institute of Electric Science Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI), and so on.

Lu Chenyu, Secretary of CEEIA Standardization Committee (hereinafter referred to as “CEEIASC”) chaired the meeting. Guo Zhenyan, Vice President and Secretary General of CEEIA, addressed the meeting. Fang Xiaoyan, Vice President of CEEIA, introduced the latest progress of the work concerning group standards at the meeting.

The development of the aforesaid five group standards was organized by Secretariat of CEEIASC, which was extensively supported by relevant research institutions and enterprises from this industry. At the meeting, the representative of the drafting group introduced the background, process and draft structure of standards compilation.

Guide to Compiling Group Standards stipulates the structure of CEEIA group standards and compiling requirements, which mainly include terms and definitions, general principles, procedure and number, structure and requirements, compiling elements and notes to such compilation, and so on.

Concerning Guide to Rewarding the Achievements of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards, there are two standards here that stipulate the general requirement and evaluation criteria on rewarding the achievements of electrical equipment industry standards; they will be used to guide in enterprise declaration, institutional review and industry recognitions.

Concerning Guide to Evaluating Good Conduct of Electrical Equipment Industry Standards, there are two standards here that stipulate the general requirement and evaluation criteria on evaluating good conduct of enterprise standardization in electrical equipment industry; they will be used to guide enterprise declaration, institutional review and industry recognitions.

At the meeting, EETI’s experts carefully went through the draft standards and proposed ideas of revisions. The ideas of revisions were adopted by CEEIASC.

Quality management presupposes standards, and standards serve as the basis of quality control. EETI always attaches importance to the work of standardization, plays a positive role in engaging and organizing the work of standards compilation and revision, and makes lasting efforts on implementing standards in every part of inspection work.

After the meeting, the responsible drafting group will modify the draft and send it to the industrial circles for comments. As planned, the standards review meeting is going to be held in late April.
